New Jersey Region - National Ski Patrol
NJ Region Bike Patrol
Path: Home / Programs

Information:

This year, the NJ Region Bike Patrol will celebrate its 5th anniversary in the woods and on the streets at the largest variety of events in our history. We will be providing volunteer emergency medical services at adventure races, mountain bike races, charity events, and, new for this year, a road race. Our scheduled events for this season can be found on the Bike Patrol Calendar.

Instead of having a formal refresher this year, patrollers will be asked to complete a checkout sheet at the first event that they attend. Included with this checkout will be the usual showing of first aid and CPR cards, as well as the signing of this year's NJ State Park VIP form. If you want to work on any specific skills during any event, e.g. first aid, biking, navigation, etc., just ask.

If you have never participated in a Bike Patrol event before, please note the following:

  • Bikes are not required. There are many many ways that you can help out by walking around or staffing our aid station.
  • There is no dues or minimum commitment. Come on out when you can, for as long as you can.
  • All patrollers are welcome. We will put your OEC and CPR skills to another good use.

Whether it is for altruism, exercise, camaraderie, skills development, or simply getting outside for some fresh air in a beautiful venue, Bike Patrol has something for everyone. Pick a date, mark it on your calendar, and come out an join us for a good time. We cannot alway promise you good weather, but you will always be in good company.

Please contact Steve Kiel at 908-534-5160 (home), 908-534-6087 (work), or webmaster@nspnj.org for more information or to sign up.
